Artist & Designer

Lalie’s first self-owned business was a handmade sticker company she started in third-grade and she has been packaging graphics ever since. Although her formal degree is a BA in history from Furman University, she has studied photography, illustration and graphic design with multiple programs including at Furman, The Corcoran School of Art and The Smithsonian Associates. For the last twenty-years she has been hard at work creating – invitations, logos, illustrations, product designs, promo campaigns, non-profit fundraisers, books, jewelry, leprechaun hunts and teddy bear installations.

Marketing & Publishing

Lalie began her career in book publishing in NYC, working in the editorial and marketing departments at Oxford University Press. She transitioned to DC (a city she loves) and worked in publicity and advertising for the Brookings Institution Press. She has published two books. Her first The NCRC Primer was commissioned by the National Child Research Center, one of the nation’s most established, diverse and imaginative pre-schools. In her second book, The Graceful Exit, she worked with authors, Mona Hanford and Adrienne Hand, to illustrate and market an accessible resource for families facing end-of-life issues.

Non-Profit Organizations

While raising three children, Lalie has continued to design as well as serve in numerous volunteer leadership roles for multiple non-profits including St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church and Day School, The LAB School of Washington and Common Sense Media. She has served as Senior Warden of her church, chaired large-scaled galas and anniversary celebrations, as well as, participated in several advisory councils.
